Mixing Trends

Now days is all about Mixing Trends. Mixing 80’s with 90’s, different patterns, colors, styles and traditions, from east to west and so forth. This look captures exactly that. Vibrant colors, harem pants in a very funky print, cropped jacket in black, and sandals to add edge to the look.
Harem, or yoga pants are very tricky to wear, and they are not everybody’s cup of tea. Harem, or ‘drop-crotch’ pants have been loitering on fashion’s radar for a few years now in various guises. From combat style, to tracksuit bottoms, funky like mine, to more trad. I gotta love them!
Do you see yourself pulling them off? xx.

My harem pants are from Vitamin C, Black Cropped Jacket from Forever21, Top from Delias, and Calvin Klein Vivian Sandals in blush color.

A Secret Garden!

I remember a story that caught my heart when I was a little girl, it was the novel by English author Frances Hodgson Burnett. A classic story for children that never went away in my mind. I felt it was a very emotional story, and I felt a deep connection with Mary Lennox, the girl of the story.

I found my own secret garden, a beautiful place…..

…What was this under her hands which was square and made of iron and which her finger found a hole in?

It was the lock of the door which had been closed ten years and she put her hand in her pocket, drew out the key and found it fitted the keyhole. She put the key in and turned it. It took two hands to turn it, but it did turn. And then she took a long breath and looked behind her up the long walk to see if anyone was coming. No one was coming. No one ever did it seemed, and she took another long breath, because she could not help it, and she held back the swinging curtain of ivy and pushed back the door that opened slowly – slowly. Then she slipped through it, and shut it behind her, and stood with her back against it, looking about her and breathing quite fast with excitement, and wonder, and delight.

She was standing inside the secret garden.[1]

— From author Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden (1911)

Here Comes The Sun

Here comes the sun….. That’s all I could think when I was shooting this look! Fall is in it’s very splendor. Lots of reds, oranges and yellows. Leaves falling everywhere, creating a very beautiful view. Nature combined with the city. Even a crane was part of the team!!!

Is getting colder every day but  I still pulled of a look that was cozy, but yet, not very accessorized by layers of clothes. I am wearing one of my favorite shirts. An Urban Outfitters foxy sweatshirt. Foxes are like my favorite animal ever. White jeans from Joe’s, white purse by Ivanka Trump, and shoes by Vince Camuto. Join me thru this lovely walk!

Vintage Glamour & Decor

I was invited to one of my friends baby shower in Douglasville, Ga. Lately I am surrounded by expecting, and new moms. I wonder if I am next, lol!!! Anyways, I got to the  house where the baby shower was taking place, and Oh My! what a surprise. Instead of being super exited by the party and the whole baby vibe, I was astonished to what I was seeing. I felt I was in a movie set for Moulin Rouge, or a Dita Von Teese burlesque show.

This home was magical. I felt in a different time, like I went back to 1920’s or to a French cabaret, in a good way. The whole house had such an intense energy that you couldn’t ignore. From feathers, to pearls, intense red walls and ceilings, all kinds of jewelry, paintings, fabrics, antique doors and floors, gorgeous bathrooms, chandeliers, wall papers, hats, furs, mirrors…. I was enchanted by this magical place. I felt like in a candy store, I wanted to dress up and play like a little girl.
While everyone was enjoying the baby shower games, I was taking pictures and  submerging myself in this wonderland. I must say I felt a little bit ashamed of myself because I did not pay much attention to the party. Instead I sat with the owner of the house and chatted with her for a long time. Off course I had to ask her: Where did you get all of this stuff from? she laughed and said, let me tell you my secret dear: Goodwill and some antique fairs.
I must say that I already knew about Goodwill, but know I am definitely doing most of my shopping there!!!!

Strolling The Neighborhood With Your loved Ones!

Walking your dog is one of those chores you have to do to keep your pet happy. I don’t see it as a chore though, because is also a healthy way for me to exercise. I get so much enjoyment from my walks with Emmylou because I know she is happy, and because I get to contemplate the precious view of the neighborhood.
I am Blessed enough to have a dog park nearby with gorgeous trees, streams and all kinds of animals: ducks, turtles, snakes, squirrels, birds, and many more. There’s no way I wouldn’t enjoy it.
Every time I see these creatures of nature, I thank the universe for the opportunity to be alive and enjoy such majestic creations.
Life is not always perfect, but it’s the way you choose to see it that makes it beautiful. Even in the darkest places, there will always be light. I encourage myself everyday to see life from a perspective of learning. No matter what you are dealing with in life, what really matters is to stick with yourself. Always have faith and believe that anything that happens to you is for your best interests. Even if you can’t see it right away or even understand it.
I hope you guys enjoy yourselves every day and enjoy the pictures of my walks with Emmylou.

Emmylou is wearing a collar I made from an old sweater from Free People.
I was wearing vintage cowgirl shirt, Heritage leggings, and forever21 chained booties.

Styling Up your Pet!

It’s no secret that if you are a fashion lover, you might also, want your pets to look fab! I came up with the idea of recycling clothes that I wasn’t wearing anymore; Pieces that had  a value, and I wouldn’t want to get rid of or take to local donation centers. Like a Free People sweater that wouldn’t fit me anymore, but I just simply loved. Well if you know one or two things about sewing, then you can certainly  DIY. Simply cut the pieces of fabric you want to use, stitch them together, and voila!

Emmylou is a very pampered, cute mini doxie, but she has a bald neck. When the winter comes she gets colder than other dogs out there. That’s when I came up with the idea to re-use this precious piece of sweater and transform it into several different collars for her. She not only would be warm, but also she would be the most stylish dog ever. Just how I like it. You can judge for yourself, but isn’t she adorable???

Where Urban Art meets fashion III

This is the third and final look of Urban Art Meets Fashion. I hope you guys enjoyed the three posts and the looks. I am wearing H&M denim, a knitted wool sweater in brown, gray and navy blue from Zara, suede booties by Brazilian designer Burana, Black and Tan leather totem bag by Christopher Kon, and a turquoise necklace to give a pop of color to the whole look. Enjoy!

Where Urban Art Meets Fashion II

This is the second look of the shoot “Where Urban Art Meets Fashion”. I opted for a casual striped skirt by Abercrombie & Fitch, a baby blue shirt that I got for 3 bucks at a consignment store, a knitted navy poncho by Land’s End Canvas 1963 (perfect for fall weather), and one of my favorite leather booties by Gianni Binni (available at Dillards). You will see me with these booties a LOT!!!
This look  is classic but edgy at the same time. The combination of the skirt and the booties gives a fun touch touch to the look.

In this part of town in Atlanta, I found lots of graffiti and really cool artistic expressions. Wandering in the city is the only way you get to know this artistic spots. I encourage everyone to go and explore the museums, conservatories, botanic gardens, flea markets, art shows, vineyards, natural and recreational parks, petting zoos, and many more. You will find amazing things, learn, and nurture your soul!!!

Where urban art meets fashion I

So I decided to go around town to find some spots and dig into the culture of the city. Driving around Atlanta I found amazing street art, graffiti, and the industrial zone that has been converted into urban lofts. This area unites people from all backgrounds, but especially artists, musicians, and entertainers. Feeling inspired by the view, the railroad tracks and the energy of this place made possible this shoot which captured a concept: Where Urban Art Meets Fashion.

I am wearing: H&M electric blue skinny pants, a vintage jacket and eel purse from a local consignment store, H&M black shirt with lace on the collar and high heels Oxford’s by Ellen Tracy. Lately I am super into black and blue. It is my fashion statement for the season. And remember, it is not about the high fashion brands you wear. It’s about having a sense of style, getting inspired by daily feelings, and creating looks with whatever you have in your own closet. That’s the true talent.

Create your own urban style:

Black & Denim

This is a vintage shirt that I use as a jacket because it is oversized and gives a relaxed look for a sunny afternoon. Underneath I have a little black dress mixed with a long sleeve black sheer shirt, heart shaped glasses which add cuteness to the outfit, and some Vince Camuto booties. I used two combinations of lipsticks: Mac Russian red and rebel. A Swarovski crystal pendant by Oliver Weber completes an effortless urban look.

It’s about the everyday, only elevated

Those are the words of one of my favorite designers ever, of course it had to be the amazing french Joseph Altuzarra. This guy is a genius. He not only designs the most gorgeous effortless chic clothing, but he also uses fabrics that are unique pieces of art assembled together to create a fantastic look. For spring 2014, he made lots of headlines with this collection. His main focus is to create beautiful things, but beautiful things that people can wear on a daily basis. And that’s how it should be. For makeup he opted for flawless pale skin, white eye shadow, Mac russian red lipstick, and  sleek back hair. Take notes girls!!!!

Emmylou the doxie

This little puppy dog is in real life my wiener dog Emmylou, I thought this little watercolor painting is very cute and perfect to be hanged out on those corners or cute spots of the house. I personally think that the details are very important.

Fall with style

I went to the mountains to catch a glimpse of the wonderful colors that the trees in Georgia have to offer, it was indeed a colorful view . Different shades of reds, yellows, oranges, browns and greens. I was amazed by the beauty of this place, the mountains give a sense of calmness and the freshest air ever.
When I go to places like the country and the mountains I like to look my best but also being comfortable for me is very important, so I decided to go with my skinny jeans from Zara, Topshop knitted sweater in yellow and navy blue pattern, a vintage jacket from Etcetera, chained booties from Forever 21  and some Lennon inspired sunnies that I absolutely adore! These days I am into lots of black and blue in all shades.

Vintage gypsy inspired look

Today I wore a beautiful vintage vest that I found at a local consignment store, the print of this vest looks like the one LV presented on their runway on Paris Fashion week 2013 collection. It’s pattern is small black and brown squares. I combined my look by wearing a copper gypsy turban, some inspired Lennon shades, black sheer shirt from BCBG, black leggings from target and the must have of the season: black chained booties from Forever 21. I also added a pop of color by mixing two of my favorite Mac lipsticks: cyber and rebel, for a dark purple goth kinda look. Tell me what you think 😊.
