Pastels & Denim

I love to wear colorful clothes. specially in the winter to feel more alive. I think is really nice to give a pop of color to these cold days. A pop of color will do exactly that, without being too flashy. Specially in the winter where everybody likes to wear black and white. I wore some corduroy Joe’s Jeans in mint pastel color, a long sleeve shirt from H&M, suede Dolce Vita booties and my fave turquoise beanie hat.

No Sequins or Dresses for Chritsmas Day!

So is no secret that almost everybody loves to dress up for Christmas Day, and I couldn’t agree more. But the fact that everybody wears pretty dresses and sequins makes me want to do the opposite. I love this outfit because is so different and that’s what I was going for. An embroided black top from Tela, harem pants from UO and suede and patent flats from kimchi. Added my Christmas red bag from Italian designer Valentina, denim jacket from Levi’s and Voila, this is the result. xx

Camo Obsessed!

So the latest trend that I am loving, is wearing Camo with Denim. This cameo pants are fab. They are perfectly fitted to my body. A little bit Capri with zippers on each side, so you can wear them zipped or unzipped depending on the shoes you want to combined them with. This amazing cameo pants are from UO. Yeah, one of my favorite stores ever. I’m wearing a denim jacket from Levi’s with a black top underneath from Lucky Brand. My shoes are from Kimchi. They are suede green in the front and black patent leather in the back. This flats are super comfy and they match my camos just right. xx

Stripes, Leopard & Suede

For a casual Saturday I opted for a relaxed look! This pair of shorts I made them myself by cutting an old pair of boyfriend Levi’s jeans, and leaving the pockets as they were. I combined them with a striped black and brown top from Forever21. Mixing prints is super inn right now, so I wore this outfit with a gorgeous leopard designer bag from Roberta Gandolfi. I love this bag. It has a kick of orange chamois, a flower ornament with orange chamois as well, perfect to combine with my striped top. My shoes are black and brown too! This are suede in the front and patent leather in the back. See, it’s all about mixing prints, and materials, it always works! Xx.

Vintage Arm Swag! Omega & Gucci

How fab are these Omega and Gucci leather watches! With snake skin straps, you just can’t go wrong. Perfect for any time and any look. They are so elegant and classic, almost a temporal. I’m super into simple things but with lots of elegance and style!

Flower Bound!

This skirt romper from UO I gotta love! Very light fabric and soft, with a gorgeous vintage flower print, perfect to light up these winter days. Super breezy and sexy. Combined with my favorite and must have chained booties from Forever21. Underneath the floral romper, I wore a basic black top form forever21.
I like to add color to the winter by wearing my Russian red lipstick from MAC. Added a Swarovski crystal pendant from Oliver Weber, amethyst ring and my fave silver and mother of pearl bracelet to complete the whole look.

Channeling My Inner American Woman!

Even though I was born in The United States, I was raised in South America, Colombia. So, I was brought up with a mixture of cultures. Now that I am back in the States, I am channeling my inner American woman, and loving it!!!
For this look I was going for a sexy Biker babe. Rocking some vintage lace print leggins, a simple black top from Forever21, and leather jacket by Harley Davidson, the emblematic American brand.
Even though my make up was simple, I rocked some burgundy lips perfect for autumn (mac lipstick). Do you love it or not so much? xx.

Santa is Coming to Town!

For the past few days I have stuck in my head the popular christmas carol: Santa Clause Is Coming To Town! The funny part about it, is that I don’t even know the lyrics of the song, and I keep singing it and adding different words that doesn’t make any sense. Of course it is because where  I grew up, Santa is not coming to town nor does he exist!!! But I love the song so much, that I just keep singing it my way: “You better watch out, you better watch out, Santa is coming to town” lol lol lol…..  This is my holiday outfit inspired on Santa! I hope you guys LikeIt and LoveIt and merry christmas to all of my dear readers. xx.

I am wearing a cropped top from Wet Seal, a vintage flared skirt and vintage leather boots from Menin Italy.

Mixing Trends

Now days is all about Mixing Trends. Mixing 80’s with 90’s, different patterns, colors, styles and traditions, from east to west and so forth. This look captures exactly that. Vibrant colors, harem pants in a very funky print, cropped jacket in black, and sandals to add edge to the look.
Harem, or yoga pants are very tricky to wear, and they are not everybody’s cup of tea. Harem, or ‘drop-crotch’ pants have been loitering on fashion’s radar for a few years now in various guises. From combat style, to tracksuit bottoms, funky like mine, to more trad. I gotta love them!
Do you see yourself pulling them off? xx.

My harem pants are from Vitamin C, Black Cropped Jacket from Forever21, Top from Delias, and Calvin Klein Vivian Sandals in blush color.

A Secret Garden!

I remember a story that caught my heart when I was a little girl, it was the novel by English author Frances Hodgson Burnett. A classic story for children that never went away in my mind. I felt it was a very emotional story, and I felt a deep connection with Mary Lennox, the girl of the story.

I found my own secret garden, a beautiful place…..

…What was this under her hands which was square and made of iron and which her finger found a hole in?

It was the lock of the door which had been closed ten years and she put her hand in her pocket, drew out the key and found it fitted the keyhole. She put the key in and turned it. It took two hands to turn it, but it did turn. And then she took a long breath and looked behind her up the long walk to see if anyone was coming. No one was coming. No one ever did it seemed, and she took another long breath, because she could not help it, and she held back the swinging curtain of ivy and pushed back the door that opened slowly – slowly. Then she slipped through it, and shut it behind her, and stood with her back against it, looking about her and breathing quite fast with excitement, and wonder, and delight.

She was standing inside the secret garden.[1]

— From author Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden (1911)

Vintage Glamour & Decor

I was invited to one of my friends baby shower in Douglasville, Ga. Lately I am surrounded by expecting, and new moms. I wonder if I am next, lol!!! Anyways, I got to the  house where the baby shower was taking place, and Oh My! what a surprise. Instead of being super exited by the party and the whole baby vibe, I was astonished to what I was seeing. I felt I was in a movie set for Moulin Rouge, or a Dita Von Teese burlesque show.

This home was magical. I felt in a different time, like I went back to 1920’s or to a French cabaret, in a good way. The whole house had such an intense energy that you couldn’t ignore. From feathers, to pearls, intense red walls and ceilings, all kinds of jewelry, paintings, fabrics, antique doors and floors, gorgeous bathrooms, chandeliers, wall papers, hats, furs, mirrors…. I was enchanted by this magical place. I felt like in a candy store, I wanted to dress up and play like a little girl.
While everyone was enjoying the baby shower games, I was taking pictures and  submerging myself in this wonderland. I must say I felt a little bit ashamed of myself because I did not pay much attention to the party. Instead I sat with the owner of the house and chatted with her for a long time. Off course I had to ask her: Where did you get all of this stuff from? she laughed and said, let me tell you my secret dear: Goodwill and some antique fairs.
I must say that I already knew about Goodwill, but know I am definitely doing most of my shopping there!!!!

Strolling The Neighborhood With Your loved Ones!

Walking your dog is one of those chores you have to do to keep your pet happy. I don’t see it as a chore though, because is also a healthy way for me to exercise. I get so much enjoyment from my walks with Emmylou because I know she is happy, and because I get to contemplate the precious view of the neighborhood.
I am Blessed enough to have a dog park nearby with gorgeous trees, streams and all kinds of animals: ducks, turtles, snakes, squirrels, birds, and many more. There’s no way I wouldn’t enjoy it.
Every time I see these creatures of nature, I thank the universe for the opportunity to be alive and enjoy such majestic creations.
Life is not always perfect, but it’s the way you choose to see it that makes it beautiful. Even in the darkest places, there will always be light. I encourage myself everyday to see life from a perspective of learning. No matter what you are dealing with in life, what really matters is to stick with yourself. Always have faith and believe that anything that happens to you is for your best interests. Even if you can’t see it right away or even understand it.
I hope you guys enjoy yourselves every day and enjoy the pictures of my walks with Emmylou.

Emmylou is wearing a collar I made from an old sweater from Free People.
I was wearing vintage cowgirl shirt, Heritage leggings, and forever21 chained booties.

Styling Up your Pet!

It’s no secret that if you are a fashion lover, you might also, want your pets to look fab! I came up with the idea of recycling clothes that I wasn’t wearing anymore; Pieces that had  a value, and I wouldn’t want to get rid of or take to local donation centers. Like a Free People sweater that wouldn’t fit me anymore, but I just simply loved. Well if you know one or two things about sewing, then you can certainly  DIY. Simply cut the pieces of fabric you want to use, stitch them together, and voila!

Emmylou is a very pampered, cute mini doxie, but she has a bald neck. When the winter comes she gets colder than other dogs out there. That’s when I came up with the idea to re-use this precious piece of sweater and transform it into several different collars for her. She not only would be warm, but also she would be the most stylish dog ever. Just how I like it. You can judge for yourself, but isn’t she adorable???

Where Urban Art meets fashion III

This is the third and final look of Urban Art Meets Fashion. I hope you guys enjoyed the three posts and the looks. I am wearing H&M denim, a knitted wool sweater in brown, gray and navy blue from Zara, suede booties by Brazilian designer Burana, Black and Tan leather totem bag by Christopher Kon, and a turquoise necklace to give a pop of color to the whole look. Enjoy!

Where Urban Art Meets Fashion II

This is the second look of the shoot “Where Urban Art Meets Fashion”. I opted for a casual striped skirt by Abercrombie & Fitch, a baby blue shirt that I got for 3 bucks at a consignment store, a knitted navy poncho by Land’s End Canvas 1963 (perfect for fall weather), and one of my favorite leather booties by Gianni Binni (available at Dillards). You will see me with these booties a LOT!!!
This look  is classic but edgy at the same time. The combination of the skirt and the booties gives a fun touch touch to the look.

In this part of town in Atlanta, I found lots of graffiti and really cool artistic expressions. Wandering in the city is the only way you get to know this artistic spots. I encourage everyone to go and explore the museums, conservatories, botanic gardens, flea markets, art shows, vineyards, natural and recreational parks, petting zoos, and many more. You will find amazing things, learn, and nurture your soul!!!

Where urban art meets fashion I

So I decided to go around town to find some spots and dig into the culture of the city. Driving around Atlanta I found amazing street art, graffiti, and the industrial zone that has been converted into urban lofts. This area unites people from all backgrounds, but especially artists, musicians, and entertainers. Feeling inspired by the view, the railroad tracks and the energy of this place made possible this shoot which captured a concept: Where Urban Art Meets Fashion.

I am wearing: H&M electric blue skinny pants, a vintage jacket and eel purse from a local consignment store, H&M black shirt with lace on the collar and high heels Oxford’s by Ellen Tracy. Lately I am super into black and blue. It is my fashion statement for the season. And remember, it is not about the high fashion brands you wear. It’s about having a sense of style, getting inspired by daily feelings, and creating looks with whatever you have in your own closet. That’s the true talent.
